Behind MoA Maria Skincare is a story of a near-death experience, trust in the universe, and the magic of life.
On 17 June 2021, life changed in an instant. Our daughter Moa, who was 20 at the time, suffered a cardiac arrest that lasted 55 minutes. She was connected to an ECMO machine, which continued to keep her blood circulating. She was kept under sedation for almost three weeks, and it was far from certain whether she would survive.
During the most critical days, I wrote down my deepest wish. I wished that her heart would find the strength to beat again, and that one day we would read that note together and feel the joy of knowing she had survived. I placed the note inside a glass pyramid, along with carefully chosen crystals.
I immediately began receiving signs from the universe. The day after her cardiac arrest, I saw a well-known psychic medium, Vivi Linde, on Instagram, sharing the card of the day. She looked into the camera and said, “You need to take this message to heart.” And on the card were the words: “I am not dead.”
Thanks to wonderful doctors and nurses, and, as I believe, help from other dimensions, she survived. She spent 82 days in hospital, but on 3 September she came home, and we read the note together. It truly is a miracle.
The pyramid gave my first business, Kristallpyramiden, its name. And Moa’s miraculous recovery gave me the courage and strength to follow a lifelong dream: to create skincare.
The Name MoA Maria
Girl power in its purest form. My daughter Moa’s middle name is Maria, my older sister’s name is Maria, and the A is a little piece of my own name, Annika.
In 2025, I began formulating and experimenting in my own home lab and took courses in natural skincare. In 2026, I launched MoA Maria Skincare, a brand created with love, natural ingredients, and the dream of one day being able to offer my daughter a job.
Until that dream comes true, we’re happy to share this journey with you, along with the skin-loving products we love using ourselves.
